Why the Big Brands Dropped Pay By Phone Bill
Boku carried phone-bill deposits for the UK's biggest gambling brands, and Boku has withdrawn from UK gambling carrier billing. Coral and William Hill both ran Boku deposits before the exit; both brands' help centres now list no carrier-billing option at all. Several brands appear never to have joined the rail at all: bet365, Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Vegas and Virgin Games list no phone-bill method on their own pages. MrQ ran a separate carrier-billing rail, never named on its pages, and phased it out between May and August 2025 without stating a reason. No brand announced a drop date, so the timing rests on Boku's exit rather than any operator statement.
